Customer bills will increase effective with usage starting on Feb. 1, 2022 and as authorized by the Maryland Public Service Commission will be partially reduced by certain tax benefits. With the rate adjustment and offsets approved by the PSC, the average residential electric bill will increase by $3.28 per month and the average residential natural gas bill will increase by $2.40 per month. It is more important now than ever to do what we can to slow down the spread of COVID-19. We all can do our part by practicing social distancing.

What we are doing

To ensure the safety of our customers and employees, we are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), eliminating all non-essential travel, following all travel restrictions, and limiting the size of internal and external meetings and gatherings.

We are also ensuring our essential employees who regularly interact with customers have the appropriate equipment to perform their jobs safely.

What you can do

Through these uncertain times and for your safety, the safety of your families and ours, do not approach a BGE employee while they’re performing work.
