Customer bills will increase effective with usage starting on Feb. 1, 2022 and as authorized by the Maryland Public Service Commission will be partially reduced by certain tax benefits. With the rate adjustment and offsets approved by the PSC, the average residential electric bill will increase by $3.28 per month and the average residential natural gas bill will increase by $2.40 per month. Greater Baltimore Urban LeagueGreater Baltimore Urban League helps disadvantaged Marylanders gain access to equal opportunity in employment, education, health care, housing and the civic arena. BGE had the honor of speaking at the Greater Baltimore Urban League conference and supporting them as a partner in our community
National Association of Women in ConstructionAs a part of the National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC’s) Mentoring a Girl in Construction (MAGIC) Camp, BGE was able to host "campers" at our White Marsh facility. This MAGIC Camp provides a supportive and nurturing environment for high school girls to explore the construction industry. The campers met successful female BGE field workers and had the opportunity for hands-on learning including will splicing cables, fusing pipes to make hula hoops, learning utility pole climbing, and viewing electric and gas safety demonstrations.
Port Discovery Children's MuseumBGE frequently partners with Port Discovery Children's Museum for events focused on education. Some recent events have included employees partnering with the William S Baer school to assist students with special needs through museum exhibits.
