Customer bills will increase effective with usage starting on Feb. 1, 2022 and as authorized by the Maryland Public Service Commission will be partially reduced by certain tax benefits. With the rate adjustment and offsets approved by the PSC, the average residential electric bill will increase by $3.28 per month and the average residential natural gas bill will increase by $2.40 per month. Power Line Safety Tips for Boaters

BGE offers some safety tips to boaters of Maryland for increased safety for all.

Make sure you know how much overhead space your boat requires and check the clearances listed on nautical charts as you approach overhead power lines.
Be sure to avoid power lines when you are towing or storing your boat.
Don’t forget to check the clearance before you raise or lower your mast.
Look for warning signs that indicate underwater electrical cables and never anchor your boat near them.
Take caution as you launch and use a spotter to make sure you clear obstacles, including any lines.
Even on land, your boat can get caught in overhead power lines. Approach all power lines with caution, and make sure flags and antennas are folded down.
